This half-day adventure begins with a private transfer to the village of Nissovo – a wonderful starting point for short hikes within the Rusenski Lom nature park, where we enjoy the breath-taking views of the river canyon. After a short transfer we visit two of the most remarkable sites in the area – the Medieval fortress of Cherven and the Rock Church of Ivanovo – listed as UNESCO world cultural heritage. Hiking through the Park will give you the unique chance to watch rare species of birds – the black stork, being the symbol of the whole area, and the Egyptian vulture. Transfer back to hotel in Ruse. THE NATURE OF NISSOVO AND THE HIDDEN CANYONS

The adventure takes place in the picturesque canyon of the Rusenski Lom river valley – an area rich in cultural and historical heritage as well as in numerous wonders of nature. Explore the mysterious signs and symbols of the ancient cemetery of Nissovo, often referred by historians as a ‘Templers’ one. Continue hiking along the medieval road and enjoy the spectacular views of the Nature reserve. The tour reaches the two rock monasteries of Nissovo and reveals some secrets of the medieval religious stream called Hesychasm. Transfer back to Ruse. PERSINA NATURE PARK– WILD NATURE OF THE DANUBE, RIVER ISLANDS AND BIRDS
Roman heritage and wildlife observation
The full-day tour goes to the town of Belene, located in one of the most significant and rich in biodiversity European wetlands – the Persina nature park. This is the largest nature protected area along the Bulgarian Danube. On the way we visit Svishtov and Novea – an important military stronghold of the Roman Empire, from the time when the Danube was its north – eastern border (Limes). Later on we explore the nature park Persina – one of Bulgaria’s eleven nature parks, preserving unique natural habitats of the Danube wetlands, including some of the largest natural islands in the river. WORLD NATURE HERITAGE- SREBARNA LAKE (UNESCO) – THE KINGDOM OF THE DALMATIAN PELICAN

A full day tour to the UNESCO nature site – the lake Srebarna (Silver Lake). Explore a real oasis of wild nature in the area of the biosphere reserve. During spring and summer visitors can observe the colony of the rare Dalmatian Pelican in its natural habitat. Hiking in the area gives a chance to see another extremely rare bird – the White-tailed eagle, which is the biggest representative of eagles in Europe. On the way back an optional visit of Tutrakan’s Museum of Danube fishing and boat making – the only one of its kind in Bulgaria. Transfer back to Ruse.
